Overheard at our house...

Setting: Josh was sent to his room for dumping half a bottle of purell (luckily it was a small bottle) on my bedroom floor. He has been in there for about 2 minutes and has been asking to come out.

Josh: Can I come out?
Me: Not yet.
Josh: If you let me come out I will love you, but I don't love you right now.

Josh is 4 and more....

On Nov. 29th Josh celebrated his 4th birthday. He was really excited for his birthday this year. His birthday was on a Sunday and Matt said at church he went around and told everyone it was his birthday. We didn't have a party with his friends this year just cake and ice cream with our family.
I took him for his 4 year check-up and he weighed 39lbs and is 40 1/2 inches tall.
For his birthday he really wanted some hot wheel cars that change colors in water.
On Nov. 30th Sara turned one month old.

She is getting so big. I don't take her in for a check-up until she is 2 months old. I don't know how much she weighs but I put her on our bathroom scale and it said 10lbs. She gave us her first smile during Thanksgiving and is smiling a lot more. We are still working on the whole sleeping thing, and she is sleeping a lot better at night.

Sara's Blessing....

While my family was here we decided to bless Sara that way no one had to make any special trips. Matt gave her a wonderful blessing. I am so grateful for the priesthood in my life. What a special moment between dad and daughter. I am also grateful that my dad and brothers are worthy priesthood holders and that they were able to help.

Here's Sara in her dress...

All my family that was here. Everyone but my sister Jennifer and her family was here. We missed them. Sorry it's a little blurry, it's the best I had.

Thanksgiving...

This year for Thanksgiving my family came to our house. We had a lot of fun and were sad to see everyone go home. We made these little Turkey treats for the kids.
Mason was more interested in eating his than actually making it.

Pictures.....

It's been busy around here the last few weeks and I have been just plain exhausted so my blogging has been on the back burner. Sara is still a really good baby for the most part. She has decided lately that when she is awake she needs to be held. That is all well and good but it makes it hard to get anything done. I would love to hold her all day long, but with 3 busy boys its not possible. Luckily the boys are pretty good at entertaining themselves as you can see below. Sara has also decided to become a night owl. For some reason she likes to stay up until midnight. It seems like no matter what we try she will not settle down for the night before midnight. If she does go to sleep and we lay her down then she just wakes up 10 minutes later. That makes for some really long nights.

Here she is at 2 weeks old. When I took her in for her check-up she was 7 lbs 15.5 oz and 20 1/4 inches. The doctor said she was growing well and that she had really good head control for being only 2 weeks old.

2 1/2 weeks...
It snowed a few inches today, so Matt got out the boys winter clothes and took them out to play.
She is now 3 weeks old. Here are a few new pictures I took of her today.

After her bath today I put a newborn outfit on her and it's a little snug and the newborn diapers are getting too small. You can see her chubby cheeks in the above picture. Why do they have to get so big so fast?

More pictures...

As promised here are a few more pictures we've taken in the last week. It was a pretty tiring week. Sara has had her days and nights completely mixed up. The first 3 or 4 nights we were home we only got about 3 hours of sleep a night. I think now she is finally getting things figured out. She is starting to be awake a lot more during the day and the last few nights we have gotten almost 7 hours of sleep though not all at once. She gets up 2 or 3 times to eat. She is so fun to have in our family.

Of all our kids she is the only one that HATES being swaddled up to sleep. I swaddled the boys until they were big enough to get out of it which usually was almost like 9 months. Sara loves having her hands right next to her face. It's funny because when we had our 3D ultrasound done she kept her hands right next to her face the whole time.
When we first got home Mason mostly ignored Sara. He would every once in a while come up to her and say baby Sara. The last few days he has been paying more attention to her and has even been asking to hold her. He is very sweet with her.

Our Halloween was a little strange this year since I was in the hospital. My brother in law took the kids to our wards trunk or treat and then the next day Josh decided to start throwing up randomly. So Noah was the only one of our kids that actually went trick or treating. I took this picture of Josh when he got dressed up for his Halloween party at preschool. He was a monkey. I don't have any pictures but Mason was a chicken.
Noah was Boba Fett the bounty hunter from Star Wars.
This is Sara at 6 days old.
Mason and Hailey on the swing set when they came over to visit.
We tried to take some pictures of all the kids this was one of the best pictures we got. I love Mason's face in this one. He recently learned how to cross his eyes and he spends most of the day with his eyes crossed. He doesn't believe me when I tell him they might get stuck that way.
Our first new family picture. Mason was not liking having his picture taken this day.
I took this today as I was getting ready to give Sara a bath. She is 9 days old.
My mom left yesterday and Matt is back at work now so lets hope I can make it through this week alone!!

We're Home.....

We came home from the hospital this morning. It's nice to be home, but I guess now is when the fun begins. It's a good thing Grandma Perry will be here in a few hours to help us. So just a few additions to Matt's post earlier. I went to the Dr. for my weekly appointment on Friday morning. I was really hoping that if things had progressed further that he would just strip my membranes and see if we could get the baby going. When he checked me I was already 4cm. He said to me well how about you just go over to the hospital about noon and we'll just induce you. Or he said I could wait until Sunday or we could just strip my membranes or just do nothing at all. I chose to go to the hospital at noon and be induced. I was already have sporadic contractions and when the nurse checked me after I was all checked into the hospital she said I was 5cm. They barely had to use any pitocin. Once it was all over the nurse commented that she was glad he had sent me over because if I had gone into full blown labor on my own I probably wouldn't have made it to the hospital in time. That was my biggest fear so I am really glad that he sent me over too.

So here are a few more pictures of our sweet little girl...

This is probably my favorite picture. I have a feeling we will see a lot of that face.....

The one side of her nose was a little smashed from sitting so low in my pelvis for so long.

We are so happy to have our little girl with us now and are completely in love with her.
